I am an Eco Warrior, a kiwi kid in year 12 that wants to try and help the world's endangered animals
by making a website that helps publicise the danger our animals are in.
by making a website that helps publicise the danger our animals are in.
The numbers of the worlds animals are falling and it is up to us to save them.
At the moment, we are the animals worst enemy. We have brought pests to islands that previously had no mammals, we are poaching animals and selling all or part of them for profit and taking away their habitat. We are also raising the worlds temperature which means the ice on our polar caps is melting meaning there is less land for animals like Polar Bears and Walruses. The rise of temperature also means that when lizards like the Tuatara lay eggs, they will all be one gender. So to save our animals we must use green energy , stop poaching, eliminate any pests that are a danger to our wildlife and preserve their habitat. We must also dispose of rubbish properly because animals can try and eat rubbish if it is thrown into the sea or left lying around. We also must recycle more to help our animals and to be more green. Doing this must be a team effort, no one person can do it alone so everyone needs to pitch in. |
Have you checked out eKo? It is an ecology game introduces you to New Zealand plants and animals.

my GOALTo help tell the world about our endangered animals and what we can do to help them. |
"It used to be said, that in places like this, nature eventually failed to support men, the truths exactly the reverse, here man failed to support nature. Ten thousand years ago man regarded the natural world as divine, but as he domesticated animals and plants so nature lost some of its mystery and appeared to be little more than a larder that could be raided with impunity." |
"Immensely powerful though we are today, it's equally clear that we're going to be even more powerful tomorrow. And what's more there will be greater compulsion upon us to use our power as the number of human beings on Earth increases still further. Clearly we could devastate the world. As far as we know, the Earth is the only place in the universe where there is life. Its continued survival now rests in our hands." |
"Only if we understand can we care. Only if we care can we help. Only if we help shall they be saved."
